Kazuri Beads Started in 1975, Kazuri Beads now employs around 200 local women, mostly single mothers, to make beautiful handmade, hand-painted jewellery and ceramics which are exported all around the world. All the beads are shaped, glazed and patterned by hand, then fired, before being strung to make a necklace, bracelet, or earrings. In fact every part of the process is handled at their business based on part of the farm once owned by Karen Blixen. The workshop is a great place to be inspired by a small business which is genuinely helping local people. It also has a great giftshop where you can buy lovely handcrafts.
